Who are you, where are you from and how did you start your journey as a freelancer?
My name is Christopher Crefcoeur, and I am originally from Belgium. I decided to become a freelancer when I had no other option but to leave my previous company, which was relocating to Denmark. They would not offer me a decent salary for the move, and I could not find a job onsite.
I asked a good friend to investigate internally at his bank if they needed someone to work remotely as a freelancer. It turned out they were looking for a Technical Lead on ServiceNow and were accepting freelancers through another company. That’s how I became a freelancer.
It was during the Covid pandemic, and I think it helped me. Since everyone was working remotely, being a freelancer working remotely didn’t make any difference.
How did you hear about N2, and since you joined, what are the main benefits you’ve seen?
I had a discussion with Nicolas Delaby on LinkedIn and he asked me if I would like to join their team. The team has great ideas to revolutionize the way freelancers work together to achieve greater results for their customers. The collaborative spirit is definitely a key value at N2.
Can you share a concrete experience of a project or collaboration you’ve experienced within the N2 community?
We are establishing a legal entity to better serve our customers who rely on our community. I have participated in discussions with lawyers and advisers. We know what we want and how to achieve it.
What makes the N2 community different from other freelance networks?
Honesty and transparency are key values for this community. We are not here to enrich a select few individuals, but rather to improve our work lives while better serving our customers.
